The 40-year-old has been having difficulty breathing and has been told to rest
BRENDAN Cole has been replaced by dancer Gorka Marquez as he recovers from a lung infection.
The Strictly Come Dancing professional concerned viewers over the weekend when he was rushed to A&E after being left struggling to breathe.
Despite his hospital dash the 40-year-old danced alongside Anastacia but could visibly be seen clutching his chest after the dance.
Now it has been revealed that hunky Gorka Marquez – who was previously partnered with Tameka Empson – will be teamed with Anastacia while Brendan recuperates.
He has been told to take it easy until Friday, when doctors will then decide if he is ready to get back on the dancefloor.

Speaking on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two, the TV favourite said: “I’ll let you into a little secret. We have the lovely Gorka stepping in for me for a few days.
“I don’t know how happy I am about it – he’s Spanish, he’s good looking and has a body which is pretty much the best on the show.”
His loyal dancer partner – singer Anastacia – reassured him that she hadn’t noticed Gorka’s ‘hot’ physique and joked that their training session so far had been ‘awful’.
Brendan added: “I kind of have the feeling it’s going to go downhill for me from here.”
On Saturday morning Brendan revealed he has been rushed to A&E after he was left having difficulty breathing.
He tweeted: “#NHS Doc’s Nurses & staff are phenomenal. Thank you for looking after me in the wee hours. Lung infection now under control so thank you.
“…had to take myself to A&E as I couldn’t breath very well so not enough oxygen getting through. Incredible care, cannot thank enough #NHS”
Brendan then added: “…all find for tonight though. Might be a little coughing and spluttering during our rumba! #strictly”.
While he stayed true to his word and performed The Way We Were by Barbra Streisand, he left viewers concerned as he was seen clutching his chest as he tried to maintain his composure in front of the cameras.
